The Sheriff's Protective Association provides the following benefits to all it's members*

All sworn and civilian full-time personnel of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are eligible for membership.

Appropriate gift for hospitalization

An appropriate gift will be sent to an SPA member, their spouse, parents or children when hospitalized due to illness, maternity or death.

Appropriate gift upon retirement

An appropriate gift and cash ($15/yr) will be given to any SPA member who resigns or retires in good standing.

Refer to index of standing motions for eligibility.

Emergency loans

Short term, interest-free loans are available to members in cases of EXTREME emergencies, such as a sudden death in the family and immediate travel money is needed. Payable within 30 days, or a minimum of 1/3 of the balance per payday by payroll deduction.

*Emergency is defined as a death or illness in the family or a situation requiring assistance until a bank/credit union opens. Each SPA member will be allowed only ONE existing loan at a time.

Distress Assistance
 

Upon the death of an SPA member, the SPA will pay the beneficiary 2,500 - $5,000 for accidental death

   Be sure to keep your beneficiary list current!

 

Sponsorships.

The SPA will fund events for SPA members or their children’s sporting activities -up to $75 per member or $350 per team.

 

Discount Cards

Discount cards are available to SPA members for Magic Mountain, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Knott’s Berry Farm and Legoland.

Turkey Tickets

"Turkey Tickets" are issued to each SPA member prior to Thanksgiving.

 

Picnic

In SEPT / OCT, the SPA sponsors a picnic for SPA members and their families. Free food, drinks, games and prizes.

Christmas Party

Our best party of the year! This event has become a formal affair for the SPA member and (1) guest. Free food, door prizes, music and a lot of fun ! (Must have been a member BY February 1^st, or will need to pay back-dues.) NEW HIRES EXEMPT.

Scholarship

Scholarships are available to children of SPA members. The SPA will pay the 1^st year’s tuition/books for (8) eight students per year The application can be obtained from any Board Member. (Turn in application by April 1^st).
